Medea and Jason: a love story that ends badly

The title pretty much explains it all.  Medea and Jason still fall in love.  Jason still leaves her.  The kids still die.  The premise may be gloomy, but filtered through the cracked lens of local playwright eva suter, this adaptation is anything but.

John Lennon’s Gargoyle
Written by Bryan Willis
Directed by Nate Harpel

featuring Matthew Hopkins, Aubrey Jessen, Mitchell Fennimore, Noelle Eaton, Jen Allen

A modern retelling of Voltaire's Candide laced with urban legend and Beatles references, John Lennon's Gargoyle faces one man armed only with American optimism against the united forces of everything that could possibly go wrong (and usually does).  In such a shitty world, how is it that so many of us inexplicably believe that despite all evidence to the contrary, things have a way of working out for the best?

Bring your Bicycle!!!

The working theatre collective brings theatre to the bicycle! In this theatrical performance/ride, audiences follow performers to a variety of locations around SE Portland and are rewarded with an original play on and about life on two wheels. This original work was created by a collection of everyday cyclists, storytellers, and theatre makers and inspired by stories from the Portland cycling community.
